CARs 602.03: "No person shall act as a crew member of an aircraft (a) within 12 hours after consuming an alcoholic beverage; (b) while under the influence of alcohol". The 12 hours is a legal minimum. You must also not be under the influence at all.
Memory tip: "12 hours bottle to throttle" — and not under the influence, however long it has been.
