Refunds and the pass guarantee
What we give you if you do not pass the Transport Canada exam your course prepares you for, and when we refund a payment.
Last updated 4 October 2026
The pass guarantee
If you buy a course, write the Transport Canada written exam it prepares you for, and do not pass, we give you 3 more months of that course, free. Each course prepares you for one exam:
- Private Pilot Licence: the PPAER
- Commercial Pilot Licence: the CPAER
- Instrument Rating: the INRAT
- Two-Crew Type Rating: the IATRA
What you get
3 more months of access to that course, added on top of any time you have left. If your access has already ended, the 3 months start on the day we add them.
Who qualifies
- You wrote the exam while your access to the course was active, or within 30 days after it ended.
- You did not pass. A partial pass on the PPAER or CPAER, with a supplementary exam still to write, counts as not passing.
- You claim within 30 days of writing the exam.
- You get one free extension for each course you buy. Access we give you for free, the extension included, is not a purchase, so it does not come with another.
PSTAR is free, so the pass guarantee does not apply to it.
How to claim
Email info@tcexamprep.ca from the address your account uses, and tell us which exam you wrote and on what day. We do not ask for proof of your result.
Refunds
All sales are final: the pass guarantee extends your course, it does not refund it. We refund a payment only if you were charged twice for the same course or charged by mistake, or where the law requires a refund.
How to reach us
Email info@tcexamprep.ca with any question about a payment, a claim or a refund. Write from the address your account uses, so we can match your message to your account.
